Wedding Servings VS Party Servings

There is a lot on the internet about wedding cake servings and party cake servings.

Basically a wedding cake slice is smaller slice, sort of the size of bread folded in half or in some cases folded in a quarter. A party cake slice would be a more like a generous wedge of cake.

Here are some photos I have found from google to show examples of sizes:

Here are some awesome cake serving guides:

NB: for the above cake serving guide you have to add up the layers together to get the total of servings.

Clear as mud? Hehe. So basically it all really starts from what cake servings slices you are after, and how many people you want to feed! If you have quiet a few guests don't worry about feeding them all, go with the quarter slices! At the end of the day I'm sure your guests will be filled with dinner and there will be other desserts there (and in some cases a lot of your guests may want to move on to the booze hehe)
